IPL Photofacial
Our signature treatment combines IPL (intense pulsed light laser) with a customized medical-grade chemical peel to help eliminate fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation! These services can only be performed under a doctor’s supervision and are performed by licensed advanced estheticians. This is NOT your average day spa facial peel, you can actually feel it working. We are a results-oriented practice and want you to experience the Réviance® difference!
What Is IPL and How Can It Help Me?
IPL laser is an ideal treatment for skin care concerns ranging from redness, and rosacea, broken capillaries and hyperpigmentation such as age, hormone and sun spots. The IPL is a non-ablative light-based treatment that has been carefully calibrated to seek out specific pigments in the skin.
Where Is the Reviance IPL Performed?
The Réviance IPL is performed at our medical facility on an outpatient basis.

How Does an IPL Photofacial Work?
The IPL photofacial delivers numerous light wavelengths into the skin, targeting pigment-generating cells beneath the skin’s surface. The light energy is transformed into heat energy, which attacks the hyperactive melanin-producing cells in your skin’s layers, breaking up pigmented regions.
The spots are drawn to the surface, where they ultimately transform into a coffee-ground-like texture. The textured skin peels away to reveal the lovely, vibrant skin beneath. Undergoing three to five treatments, each spaced about four weeks apart, is usually the best way to achieve optimal results.
IPL photofacials are normally painless, but they might be uncomfortable; this varies from patient to patient. The length of an IPL photofacial treatment is determined by the number of regions being treated and the number of passes made by a skilled Réviance professional.
The IPL Photofacial Procedure
You can come in with or without makeup, because a Réviance qualified expert will completely cleanse your skin prior to your IPL photofacial treatment. A cool gel will be applied to your skin after it has been cleansed, which will improve the effect of the light waves.
The IPL laser will be moved across the skin in a grid-like pattern, flashing light every centimeter. Depending on your needs, our skilled Réviance professional may go over the region multiple times. Treatments are short, taking about 30 to 60 minutes on average.
What Happens After the IPL Photofacial Treatment?
The skincare professional will clean the skin again after the IPL photofacial treatment, eliminating the gel. Your skin may appear slightly red and swollen, but there will be no downtime. After the treatment, you may experience a sunburn-like sensation, but an ice pack should reduce this.
You can use makeup and continue your normal skincare routine right after the IPL photofacial therapy. Make sure you don’t go out in the sun for at least a week, and be sure to use sunscreen every day.
IPL Photofacial Results
The results of IPL photofacial treatments improve with time, with the best results appearing three months after the last treatment. It’s normal for freckles and sunspots to darken at first and then fade away within one to three weeks. The results will last longer if you use sunscreen and take proper care of your skin.
For optimal results, a new course of IPL photofacial treatment is recommended every year. Excessive sun exposure and insufficient exfoliation may bring back skin problems. Complementary treatments such as microneedling can extend the longevity of your results and compound the rejuvenating benefits.
A Réviance skilled professional will consult with you to customize the right combination of treatments and to create a personalized program that will address your skincare concerns. Allow Réviance to create a Personalized Treatment Program, designed especially for you. We work hard to exceed your expectations and help you to achieve your goals. By combining Dr James Chan’s and Dr. Haena Kim’s medical protocols with a proper home maintenance program, you will be on the path to looking and feeling your best!
