A brow lift, also referred to as a forehead lift, helps with the overall rejuvenation of the forehead and upper eyelid area. With a brow lift, Dr. Chan or Dr. Kim can help you restore a more youthful look by smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead and eyebrows, areas of the face where signs of aging can be very apparent. Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Brow lift patients should be in good overall physical and mental health. Patients should also have realistic expectations and goals. Your surgeon will go over any pertinent medical history and perform an evaluation of your current health to determine if a brow lift is the right choice for you.

Patients who have noticed some visible signs of aging on their forehead or along their brow are good candidates for a brow lift. If you have noticed any of the following cosmetic concerns, a brow lift may be the solution for you.

• Sagging, low positioning of the eyebrows
• Frown lines between the eyebrows
• Horizontal creases across the forehead

How Is a Brow Lift Performed?

Dr. Chan and Dr. Kim utilize multiple techniques for brow lifts depending on the severity of the condition. Commonly they perform an endoscopic brow lift that uses small incisions in the hairline that provide access to the forehead area so that endoscopes can be used to perform the procedure. In some patients, a temporal brow lift where only the tail of the brow is lifted can be performed.

Finally, some patients are candidates for a direct brow lift where incisions are made in the natural wrinkles of the forehead to achieve a natural and lasting lift. The standard coronal brow lift, where an incision is made above the hairline or immediately in front of the hairline from ear to ear, can also be performed and provides the best approach for accessing wrinkles between your eyebrows. The entire procedure takes approximately one hour.

Recovering From a Brow Lift

Bruising and swelling are normal following a brow lift, however, this should subside after about a week. It is important to carefully follow all of your surgeon’s postoperative instructions to avoid complications and shorten healing time.
